CULINARY MUSING 005: January 24, 2006 [listen]

Ingredients are the deconstruction or production of mistakes.

I learn from my mistakes. This means that I have to know myself in order to acknowledge and accept ownership of the mistake--the telltale signs of a loner. I like to analyze, then craftily document and reproduce my mistakes in writing--the call of a literary artist.

How the mistakes are corrected depends on one's appraisal of and need for improvement.

Ed's Chicken Stuff/Fishy Noodles

These two foodstuff listings were an act of whimsical creativity--tasting better than presented (and named).

Poem [listen] Foodstuff

Ingredients

A meal
Quantified, tempered and timed.

Imposed measures
Broken into parts,
The pieces into entities
Awaiting combination:
Reaction within balance;
Competition without advance.

Calculated desire--
Sake for the touch
To substitute and abbreviate,
To institute and accentuate
A mistake.

Ed's Chicken Stuff

Chicken leg quarters
Filtered water
garlic cloves
Rosemary sprig
Olive oil
Dried hot chili pepper (whole)
Celery
Yellow onion
Sea salt
Rice
Pepper
